Property prices have rocketed in Italy, France and Spain as Brits seek a sunshine escape abroad BUT you can still pick up a bargain if you know where to look.

If you want a holiday home you can reach with ease and feel 100% comfortable (unlike the emerging property markets in Romania and Morocco for example) then look at the less well known regions of France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

In Spain look inland from Granada. Travel an hour from the coast and you will find yourself in old fashioned Spain. Also consider the Costa Verde in the north and the Costa De La Luz on Spains' Atlantic coast.

If you are looking for property in Portugal, consider the Silver Coast with its stunning coastline

For property in France, consider the Pyrenees-Atlantiques, Bordeaux in Aquitaine and Limoges in Limousin

In Italy, budget arilines have started flying to Puglia in the south which has some of the best coastline in Italy. Alternatively consider Emilia-Romagna which is just north of Tuscany

The trick to finding a good area abroad to buy property in is the think about the "ripple effect". Get a map of the country and pinpoint the areas that are currently the most popular.
Then look at the regions surrounding them. Property in areas surrounding these property hot spots will benefit from their legacy and should rise in price and be a good property investment abroad.
